The Land decks... have Land-ed
We were so excited to receive these yesterday afternoon!
And now the hard work of shipping these decks to 1,000 people begins. Thank you all so much for supporting Laura Tempest's newest oracle—actually a set of two oracles— and making it possible for us to manufacture them using the highest-quality materials.
They came out gorgeous.
So what's next?
How soon will I get mine? Have you shipped them out? What about mine, did you ship mine?
The answer to all of the above questions is: we start today, there are a thousand, and we are doing them in batches. A reminder: we are not a warehouse, we are a home-based business with thousands of products in our garage. We ask for your patience. Thank you for sacrificing the immediacy of online shopping for the satisfaction of hand-made and hand-packaged spiritual products.

How will I know?
The people who filled out their BackerKit surveys and paid for shipping are the ones receiving rewards. You will know what I mean when I say: after a few days check your BackerKit page. It will show status.
Your BackerKit page will show if your pledge remains unfulfilled or fulfilled.
Please do not reply or comment on this update with requests for specific help. (But why not?)
For the official record, we won't be answering the "Where can I find my survey?" question on this forum anymore. This is not because we're terrible, it's because we are packing boxes and it's because that information is already here. We love you.
If you are lost, please look to a previous Update—specifically, Update #8 (link here) if you need detailed instructions. Or, write to [email protected] to get personalized assistance, and be sure to know your Backer number on Kickstarter and the email you use on this platform.
We aim to get all 1,000 packages of the Land Oracle out the door by the end of July, but it's possible we might take longer, and still be working in early August.
Most "By Sea" Decks Get Shipped Separately
A reminder: Laura only just finished the work on the "by Sea" deck, which means it's not even at the manufacturing facility yet. We have to format them into cards and a book, which takes time. That deck only exists in digital form right now. Please be patient.

3. Read the project FAQs, where we already tried to predict what issues you might have.
4. Read the Shipping section on the main project campaign page. It's got detailed information about how shipping is being handled.

Hello all, Laura here!
As we await the first deck to make landfall...I've been diving deep into the 2nd deck.
(I'm sorry, there's just way too many opportunities for puns with these decks lol!)
The art for 2/By Sea is about 60% done, and I'm aiming to finish up the last group and guidebook in the next two weeks. I've made several excursions out to the coast for reference photos. I've taken endless photos of tidal pools, lighthouses, boats, rocks, waves, and well, all things seaworthy! There is a stack of marine/coastal folklore books in my studio that almost reaches my hips. Max (one of our cats) insists on sleeping on the small pile of reference seashells I have.
As I've focused into the spirit of this deck and discovered even more cool folklore in the process, I've made some adjustments to the categories and expanded the number of them to 7 (which happens to also match the number found in the Land deck).
The official categories are: - Denizens - Sealife - Curios & Crafts - Landmarks - Vessels - Provisions - Liminal (name still in the works, it's almost there)
This expansion and reconsideration took a while to sort out, but was definitely worth the time and effort. I had over 60 ideas for cards, and really needed to dig deep for what was most potent and symbolic for New England. Now, I feel the deck embodies the folklore of the coastal region as best as it can in 48 cards.
My revisiting of the categories and cards came after a dream where I was worried that I had put too much cacti in the Land deck. (There are NO cacti in the Land deck, but this was dream logic, so of course there were cacti EVERYWHERE.)
Here's a photo of my patient partner Nathan on our trip out to Beavertail Lighthouse last week in Jamestown, RI.
I hope you've enjoyed this little check in. I've got to get back to playing with the water(colors). Just a quick note to let you know, we sent the surveys to each and every one of you so please be looking for them.
Thank you to the folks who already submitted your info.
The word “survey” is a little misleading but it’s a Kickstarter thing. What it really is is a (mandatory) form for you to tell us your mailing address, and pay for shipping.
We like to charge shipping via a third party software because it saves you money and helps us work more efficiently to get your rewards out.
Any tech troubles, let us know and we’ll find someone at Backerkit to help.

Hi everyone, all 1,000 of you...
Apologies for writing to all 1,000 of you just to reach 23 people, but it's the only way.
Which 23 people am I looking for?
The ones who log into Kickstarter not with an email but with their Apple ID.
Why does this matter?
Because I'm telling you now, you won't get anything in the mail unless we fix this.
I know, I know.
Why does Kickstarter have this function if it doesn't allow me to get my rewards?
Heck if I know.* But we're going to work around it.
How do I provide you w/ my actual email?
To fix this and ensure your actual email is the one on file, you essentially need to "promote" your account to a standard email/password login.
1. Log in to Kickstarter (using your Apple ID for the last time).
2. Go to your Settings:
3. On Web: Click your profile icon (top right) → Settings → Account. On Mobile: Tap the profile icon → Gear icon → Account.
4. Look for the Email section. Since you are linked to Apple, you should see an option to "Change Email" or "Disconnect Apple ID."
5. Enter your actual email address.
6. Check your inbox: Kickstarter will send a verification to your chosen email address. Follow the link in that email to set a new password. Log back in: You can now log in using your standard email and the password you just created.

Just in case the connection to BackerKit, our shipping software, has already pulled in your non-functional AppleID mask, just reach out and let us know you're on top of this and that you still want the reward you pledged for.

* It is a common headache with "Sign in with Apple." When you use that feature, Apple creates a unique @privaterelay.appleid.com email address. While this protects your privacy, it also "hides" you from project creators.

Hi everyone!
Thanks again for backing the Lantern: A New England Folk Oracle set. Stacey here, and I have some great news and updates for you all.
The Land Deck is on Press
All of the cards are complete, all of the checks are done, and the book is complete, edited and formatted. April was a whirlwind of activity, and we are so relieved to have sent the assets to our trusty printer to have that first sample made.
The stickers were the easiest and so they're done already... but the rest takes time to manufacture. Luckily we are right on schedule.
The BackerKit surveys are coming
Later this month, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey.
It’s mandatory to respond to your survey, because we need your information and shipping fees to fulfill your rewards.
You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. It's tied to your Kickstarter pledge.
When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and pay for your shipping rate. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!
After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.
If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://the-lantern-oracles.backerkit.com/
If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact support at https://the-lantern-oracles.backerkit.com/
